Annie Beliveau
vocalist and music theorist
I live in New York City, where I perform, teach, and write about music.
I perform and record professionally with Choral Chameleon, Yasna Voices, and the Schola Cantorum of St. Vincent Ferrer.
I give lecture-recitals for series such as Sacred Music at Columbia.
I write music for voices and chamber ensembles.
Teaching
I teach musicianship at the Aaron Copland School of Music.
I have also taught theory and analysis at the Mannes School of Music and musicianship and popular music history at City College, CUNY.
I have a private studio in musicianship and composition.
Education
I study music theory and analysis at the CUNY Graduate Center. Currently in my fifth year of the doctoral program, I am writing a dissertation on Bulgarian choral harmony.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in music from Middlebury College in my home state of Vermont, minoring in French and participating in many choral activities.
